Description
🌕This Smoky Quartz from Brazil has an amazing tornado-like inclusion in the shape of an hour glass. The swirling, “tornado-like” formations sometimes seen inside clear or smoky quartz are natural internal features formed during the crystal’s growth deep within the Earth.
💗As quartz develops, it can trap tiny amounts of gas, liquid, or mineral particles. Changes in temperature, pressure, and growth direction can cause these inclusions to twist and spiral—creating the appearance of a miniature vortex or tornado frozen inside the stone. In smoky quartz, natural irradiation adds depth and contrast to these patterns, making the swirling effect even more visible and dramatic.
🦚These unique formations are completely natural and highly valued, as no two pieces will ever form the same way—each one is a one-of-a-kind snapshot of the crystal’s growth journey. This piece is 2 3/4" tall and quite chunky and wide with some pinpoint rainbows.
